What it is
Testing everything that plugs in
PAT is the combined visual inspection and electrical testing of moveable equipment — anything with a plug. There is no single legally fixed frequency; the correct interval depends on the equipment, the environment and how it's used.
We assess your equipment and premises, set sensible intervals, test and label each item, and hand back a documented register that stands up to an audit or insurance review. Failed items are reported with a clear recommendation — repair, replace or remove from service.

How often should equipment be tested?

Every 3 months
Construction sites & harsh environments
Equipment takes heavy handling and physical damage — the shortest intervals apply.
6 to 12 months
Industrial & high-use equipment
Workshop tools, kitchen equipment and anything moved or unplugged daily.
1 to 2 years
Offices & low-risk commercial
Most typical office equipment — kettles, heaters, chargers, desk appliances.
2 to 4 years
IT & stationary equipment
Desktop PCs, monitors and printers that rarely move can sit on longer intervals.
Hire & new equipment
Before first use
Hired-in and newly supplied items are inspected before they go into service.
Why it matters
Why PAT testing is important
It's a legal duty
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require electrical equipment to be maintained in a safe condition. PAT is how you evidence that duty has been met.
Insurance & audits
Insurers, landlords and FM clients routinely ask for an in-date PAT register. Missing records can complicate a claim.
Catches faults early
Damaged leads, poor terminations and failing earths are found before they cause a shock, a fire or downtime.

Standard visit
£80.00
Includes the initial site visit fee and the first 20 appliances tested.
Additional appliances
£1.50
Per appliance thereafter — every item labelled, logged and included in your asset register and certificate.
All prices exclude VAT. Multi-site and portfolio rates available on request.
